Föllmi Reto Print

Reto Foellmi is Professor of Macroeconomics at the University of Bern. He is a Research Affiliate of the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR, London), and a Visiting Research Fellow at the Institute for Empirical Research in Economics (IEW) at the University of Zurich.

Earning his PhD in Economics in 2003 from the University of Zurich, he has held visiting appointments at M.I.T., Osaka University, Kobe University, Mainz University, and the University of St. Gallen.

Reto Foellmi’s research interests lie in economic growth, income distribution and international trade. In particular, he studies which role inequality plays for economic growth and why malfunctioning financial institutions are so prevalent. He has published extensively on these subjects, including two books (one at Princeton University Press) as well as several articles in leading journals.
