General Information
Accommodation
As there is always a big demand for accommodation in Hong Kong, it is advisable to make an early reservation. Please note that the Summer Programme is not in a position to guarantee accommodation and cannot rent an apartment for you. However, we will try our best to assist you with updated information on suitable and affordable accommodation opportunities in Hong Kong.
For more information, please visit the links in the box on the right.
Important Logistical Information
Participants registered for the 2012 Summer Programme will receive login information for the University of Bern/World Trade Institute online course management system upon their arrival. With this login information, participants will have access to the course syllabi and readings, in addition to being provided with a binder containing the printed compulsory readings.
Visa Requirements
Nationals of most countries are allowed to enter Hong Kong without a visa in order to participate in the WTI/CUHK Summer Programme for a certain period (either 14, 30 or 90 days). A student visa is not required. Please check this website that provides a list of all countries indicating the respective visa free period.
Participants from countries whose nationals require a visa to enter Hong Kong should provide us with a scanned copy of their passport when they apply for the course, so that we could support their visa application.
Participants from Mainland China have to apply for an Entry & Exit Permit (please get in touch with us as soon as possible so that CUHK can issue an invitation letter).
If necessary, the visa application process should be started as early as possible, as it can take 4-6 several weeks.
