The course covers the many challenges of managing the border, drawing attention to the economics of trade costs and the economic underpinnings of the recent trade policy interest in issues of trade facilitation. The course also reviews the key legal and negotiating challenges arising in customs law, explores the complex area of rules of origin in both multilateral and preferential negotiation settings and concludes by an in-depth look at the negotiation agenda on trade facilitation in the WTO.

 

 

We welcome interested individuals as weekly students in this course. As a weekly student you do not need any knowledge of the field to participate. The price of signing up to this course as a weekly student is CHF 1'500. Please note that this course is taught Mon-Wed, 21-23 May and Tue, 29 May 2012.
