III/08B Settling International Economic Disputes
The growing trend in international economic transactions yields benefits but at the same time poses challenges. One of the most significant challenges is the handling of disputes arising from such transactions. The issue becomes increasingly complex given the diversity of economic matters that are interrelated, the multiplicity of possible jurisdictions, and the potential conflict of applicable laws. This course presents an overview of international economic disputes from a business and legal strategy perspectives. It focuses on practical considerations to handle this type of disputes and the question of choice of forum, with particular emphasis on trade disputes.
