English Language Support

Research and academic writing plays an integral role during your study on the MILE Programme. The three professionals who make up the language support team will be there to help you understand what lecturers expect in terms of language and style, and how to best interpret feedback.

When you join the group of international students at the WTI, you will interact with different levels of English. You might be a native speaker who has completed all your education in English; or you might have studied in English at a university abroad; or you may have learned English as a foreign language and find the demands of the courses quite challenging.

Regardless, the English language support team is there to provide you with appropriate assistance throughout your studies on the MILE. In addition to expanding your knowledge of academic English, you may need to adopt new conventions of style, referencing and layout. The type of writing you’ll be asked to do will depend on the topic e.g. academic essays, policy papers, legal memos and other written assignments.

To make sure you arrive prepared for the pace of the MILE Programme, we place strong emphasis on determining your level of English in the admission process.
