The Role of Language in an Academic Context
In academic writing as elsewhere, readers will be convinced only if they can follow an argument, but they will not follow an argument if the writing is not convincing. The convincing use of academic English is therefore a key skill for any researcher. At the WTI/NCCR, English language support is provided by the English Language and Learning Advisor, the Scientific Editor and the Academic Writing Advisor.
