Aruba Khalid has an undergraduate degree in International Economics from the American University of Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. She interned at the Gulf Research Centre, Dubai, the sole independent think tank in the Gulf region. After completing her internship she was hired as a full time Economic Research Assistant at the Centre and conducted research mainly dealing with GCC economic issues and GCC international relations particularly with Sub-Saharan Africa. She authored a research paper on GCC-Africa Health Cooperation which was published in the 14th issue of the Gulf Monitor, a GCC economic and political relations journal. Her research interests include international monetary economics volatility in political unrest and political implications on national economies.
