Fabrizio Meliadò graduated in Political Science in 2005 from the University of Messina (Italy). His Master’s thesis focused on the European Union enlargement policy in the Western Balkans, analyzing the economic and legal structure of the Stabilization and Association Agreement (SAA) under negotiation with Serbia, as well as the financial instrument known as “CARDS”. In 2006, he worked as an assistant project manager with the NGO European House in Budapest. In 2007, Fabrizio joined the Italian Mission at the Council of Europe (Strasbourg) where he worked as a research assistant. He explored in particular the evolution of the legal system of protection of human rights in Europe from the early nineties to the present, publishing the result of his research in the “Rivista di studi politici internazionali” - an international academic journal edited by the University of Rome “La Sapienza”. In 2008, Fabrizio joined the World Trade Organization, where he worked for one and a half years in the field of technical assistance for developing countries as a project manager and academic tutor - the latter in on-line introductory courses on WTO law. Fabrizio is interested in issues related to trade and environment, standards and subsidies, particularly in the fisheries sector. He is fluent in written and spoken English, French and Spanish. He spends his spare time with his family and friends and enjoys travelling and sports.
