Sheikh Hafizur Rahman is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Law at the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. He completed his LL.B. (Hons) in 1994 and LL.M. in 1996 from the Law Department of Dhaka University and joined the Law Department of Chittagong University in February 1998 as a lecturer where he taught Constitutional and Comparative Law. In July 2000 Mr. Rahman joined the Law Department of Dhaka University as a lecturer and in October 2005 he became an Assistant Professor in the same department. He teaches Intellectual Property Law, Environmental Law, Criminology and Comparative Law. In addition to this position, he teaches part time in different private universities. Mr. Rahman has more than fifteen research articles in different journals in Bangladesh. In addition to this, he usually writes columns in the leading national dailies of Bangladesh, having to date published more than one hundred columns on different social, political and legal issues. He is involved with the activities of a number of human rights, environmental and social organizations.
