Tomas Silla obtained a Bachelor of Laws degree with Honours from the University of Birmingham in June 2009. During his studies he participated in various moot court and debating competitions, most notably the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot 2008 in Vienna (Austria) and the Camm Cup Mooting Competition 2008 in Birmingham (England), where he reached the final. During his time at the University of Birmingham, Tomas held positions of responsibility on numerous committees, including the College Student Misconduct Committee, the Student Stuff Liaison Committee, and others. In 2009, Tomas reached the semi-final in the Global Management Challenge (Slovak National Round), which helped him to develop knowledge of international business and management practices.
Tomas’s professional interests lie in the area of international commercial dispute settlement and the regulation of international trade (both public and private).
Tomas is fluent in Slovak, English and Czech. Aside from his professional interests he enjoys playing tennis, squash, traveling and reading.
