Dr Lorand Bartels is a University Senior Lecturer in Law and a Fellow of Trinity Hall at the University of Cambridge, where he teaches international law, WTO law and EU law. He has been engaged as a legal consultant to the European Parliament, the Commonwealth Secretariat, as well as numerous NGOs, States and regional international organisations. In 2007 he was an Alexander von Humboldt Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for International Law in Heidelberg. He is a founding member of the Executive Council of the Society of International Economic Law, a member of the International Trade Law Committee of the International Law Association. He is the author of Human Rights Conditionality in the EU’s International Agreements (OUP, 2005) and a co-editor of Regional Trade Agreements and the WTO Legal System (OUP, 2007), and the Cambridge International Trade and Economic Law series (CUP).
