Bisong Amanda
Amanda Bisong is a lawyer, called to the Nigerian Bar. She is an Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and holds a Post Graduate Diploma in International Trade Policy and Trade Law from the Trade Policy Training Centre in Africa (TRAPCA) Arusha, Tanzania, and a Certificate in International Trade and Development from the same institute.
She has been involved in Legal practice in Nigeria by working in law firms and with the Ministry of Justice, Zamfara state. Her interest in international trade led her to work in the legal/advocacy department of the National Association of Nigerian Traders (NANTS), an NGO involved in trade policy advocacy in Nigeria and West Africa. Here, she wrote several articles for the journal titled 'Trade Policy Monitor'. She recently completed an internship in the Trade Directorate of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) where she worked in the office of the Director of Trade and her primary research involved India- Africa preferential trade.
Amanda is currently researching the role of services in diversifying Nigeria's exports. Her interests include trade in services, migration and development as it affects African countries. She is also interested in preferential trade agreements especially the ongoing European Union Economic Partnership Agreements and South - South cooperation agreements.
She speaks English and some French and her interests include reading, sewing and travel.
