Dadkhah Ali



Ali Dadkhah is a Canadian national who holds a Bachelor of Civil Law degree and a Juris Doctor from the University of Saskatchewan, College of Law, Canada. He joined the Jessup International Moot Court competition of 2010 and in the course of his studies presented a number of papers on such topics as Canada's energy program - explaining the consistency of the requirements with various WTO agreements, and the Canadian international obligation concerning WIPO and Bill C-32 - examining whether the new copyright bill properly implements the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Treaties. In pursuit of his legal career, he has worked with the International Trade Department in Brasilia, Brazil and completed an internship with the International Counsel of Jurists in Delhi, India.

Ali has developed litigation skills in commercial law as well as negotiation and courtroom experience by actively litigating corporate cases from the initial dispute, through mediation and trial. Additionally, he has extensive drafting, reviewing and negotiating experience. Ali has advised clients regarding trade remedies, customs valuation, free trade agreements, quantitative restrictions and dispute settlement.

His professional interest lies in the area of trade in services, international commercial dispute settlement and the regulation of international trade (both public and private). As a result of living/working in Saudi Arabia for several years Ali is also very interested in studying Lebanon's accession to the WTO and the architecture of Middle-Eastern countries' FTAs.

Ali speaks English, French, Arabic and Persian fluently and has a good command of Spanish and Portuguese.
