Simone Heri is currently finishing her PhD thesis on “Human Rights Impact Assessments of Trade-Related Rules and Policies: Case Study of the Right to Food” that she started while working for the individual project on trade and human rights during phase I of the NCCR Trade Regulation. At the work package on impact assessment, she will focus on the development of sustainability impact assessments of foreign direct investment in large-scale biofuels production.

Having studied international law, social psychology and political philosophy, she graduated with a Master of Science from the University of Zurich and a Master in International Studies with Specialisation International Law from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva. Recent work includes consultancies for the International Commission of Jurists and the Swiss Agency for Development and Coordination. Simone Heri is also the section coordinator for the section on Integrated Assessment of Trade-Related Policies of the International Association for Impact Assessment.
