Arno Hold is an NCCR Research Fellow and the Director of the WTI/CUHK Summer Programme on Intellectual Property in Hong Kong. Currently based in Hong Kong, he works as a Consultant in various Asian and European countries.
Within the NCCR Trade Regulation, Mr Hold is pursuing his PhD focusing on the relationship between intellectual property rights, foreign direct investment and economic development. He is enrolled in the DIA-Programme of the University of St. Gallen (Supervisors: Carsten Fink and Simon J. Evenett).
Mr Hold completed his studies in Political Science, International Law and Economics at the Universities of Bern, Zurich and Bologna and is a graduate of the World Trade Institute’s MILE programme.
His professional experience includes positions as a Coordinator for international technical assistance projects at the Swiss Federal Institute of Intellectual Property (IPI), as a Project Officer at a research centre in Geneva, as a Business Development Consultant in Singapore, and as a Research Assistant at the Institute for Public International and Foreign Constitutional Law of the University of Zurich. Furthermore, Mr Hold gave lectures at the South-Western University of Finance & Economics in Chengdu and completed various internships inter alia at the UN Headquarters in New York and at the Strategic Leadership Training Section of the Swiss Federal Chancellery. He currently teaches at Kalaidos University of Applied Sciences in Zurich (one course in macroeconomics a year).
