Marongiu Alessandro

Alessandro graduated with a Bachelor degree in Political Science and International Relations from the “La Sapienza” Università di Roma in 2008. His  thesis, entitled “The Role of International Organizations in Improving Access to Essential Medicines”, explored the topic of basic human rights in Developing Countries and evaluated the lack of coordination among various International Organizations such as the WTO and WHO. This research led him to study international cooperation and global governance in general and he achieved a Master degree in International Relations in 2010. His thesis focused on an empirical research of Foreign Direct Investment in the EU. This extensive work received top marks and a cum laude honor from the faculty commission. A specific interest in trade-related topics has led Alessandro Berne and to the MILE programme to specialize in International Law and Economics and, in particular, Intellectual Property Rights, FDI, and the relationship of trade to development. He spends his spare time with his family and friends and his greatest passion is travel.
