Bernard O’Connor has been practicing EU and WTO law for more than 25 years. In that time he has argued more than 60 cases before the EU Courts in Luxembourg and participated in more than 10 dispute procedures in the GATT and the WTO. 

He qualified as a lawyer in Trinity College Dublin in Ireland and did post graduate studies at the European University Institute in Fiesole, Italy. He has written and edited a number of books including 2010, Understanding EU Commission Tenders: a practical guide, Intersentia Books; 2009, Joint Author, Guide to Geographical Indications, linking products and their origins, ITC, Geneva; 2005, Editor: Agriculture in WTO Law, Cameron May, Cameron May, London; 2004, Author: The law of Geographical Indications, Cameron May, London; 1995, Editor: Business Guide to European Community Legislation (2nd Edition) John Wiley & Sons.

Bernard works in the areas of trade defence and in particular subsidies, market access and administrative procedures including competition law. Much of his work has been in the agricultural sector, in agro-chemicals and in intellectual property.
