Darius Rao holds a BA of International Relations from the University of Geneva and recently graduated from the World Trade Institute with a Master of International Law & Economics (magna cum laude). He has since developed a strong penchant for international trade-related matters such as on regionalism, food security and agriculture trade, development-oriented investment issues, and trade in services.

Whilst studying, Darius accomplished various internships which provided both substantial knowledge and practical experience. He mainly worked in the field of refugee law as a legal counsellor within NGOs in Geneva and Durban, and also participated in other internships in Belize and Palestine.

 

Darius is currently completing a traineeship at the European Free Trade Association and aims to continue working in the field of international economic law, especially in a challenging work environment focusing on development, trade and investment. He speaks English, French, Spanish and Italian and has a good basic knowledge of Polish and German.

Aside from his professional interests, Darius has an unquenchable thirst for travel, is passionate about history and geopolitics, cheers for football and cricket, and craves spicy food.
