(2)    travel expenses;

Housing

The WTI does not provide accommodation for Visiting Research Fellows. Visiting Research Fellows can apply for a room with the Bernese Student Lodging Association (http://www.vbsl.ch/). Early applications are recommended as places are limited and the residences are often fully booked. Upon request, WTI staff can provide prospective Fellows with information on relevant housing-related internet sites.

Health Insurance

Visiting Research Fellows are required to obtain their own health insurance (mandated by Swiss law). Special plans for temporary residents can be found on the internet and information on them can be supplied by WTI staff upon request.

Visa/Immigration

International applicants should ensure that they can provide evidence of sufficient funding to Swiss visa/immigration authorities if necessary. The WTI will only confirm an academic affiliation to the Institute for the duration of the Visiting Research Fellow’s stay in Bern.

Research

The WTI is the host institution of the Swiss National Centre of Competence in Research (NCCR) – Trade Regulation. In the selection process, consideration may be given to applicants who intend to pursue research interests related to the core themes investigated by the NCCR – Trade Regulation project. Information on the research activities of the NCCR – Trade Regulation can be found at:  http://www.nccr-trade.org.
