Born and raised in the United States to a Swiss mother and Egyptian father, Amir joined the WTI team in October 2008 as a MILE Programme Fellow. He studied International Relations at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island USA, and spent two semesters at the American University in Cairo concentrating on economics and diplomacy.
During and after his university studies, Amir has worked as a student advisor, UN intern, event coordinator, English Teacher, and hotel sales manager. Keenly interested in American politics, he is also an avid skier, snowboarder and consumer of trivial knowledge.
