MILE 11
Vietnam

Thao Nguyen graduated from the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam in 2009 with a Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations. As a student, she represented Vietnam in the 7th ELSA Moot Court Competition on WTO law which marked the beginning of her interest in a career in international trade law.

After graduation, she worked for a Vietnamese consultancy company specializing in trade remedy cases. In cooperation with  well-known law firms in the United States such as Winston & Strawn LLP and Thompson Hine LLP, she fulfilled her role as a legal assistant in the first countervailing duty investigation conducted against the Vietnamese Government as well as in various stages of antidumping proceedings against Vietnam shrimp and plastic bag industries conducted by the U.S authority.
During the MILE programme Thao hopes to learn more about WTO substantial and procedural issues in relation to national policies, in order to advise the state and other clients on this field in future.
