As of 2013, Darius Rao is a Policy Advisor at IDEAS Centre Geneva, a not-for-profit organisation focusing on trade and development issues. He holds a BA in International Relations from the University of Geneva and graduated from the World Trade Institute (magna cum laude) in 2011. His penchant for international and development-oriented trade-related matters revolves mostly around economic regionalism, food security and trade in agriculture.
During and after his studies, he accomplished numerous traineeships in Belize, Palestine and South Africa, notably in the field of refugee law. His career orientation then shifted to international trade policy and he subsequently worked as a trainee for the European Free Trade Association. Darius speaks English, French, Spanish and Italian and has a good basic knowledge of Polish and German.
Aside from his professional interests, Darius has an unquenchable thirst for travel, is passionate about history and geopolitics, cheers for Spanish football and craves spicy food.
