Denisse Rodriguez holds a law degree from the Universidad Católica de Bolivia and a Master's degree in International Economic Relations and Integration from the Universidad Mayor de San Andres. Moreover, she has taken various courses in law, international relations, trade policy and bilateral investment treaties and received merit-based scholarships.

Her recent position as a research fellow for the Trade and  Development Programme at the South Centre in Geneva involved legal and policy analysis on WTO negotiations, Economic Partnership Agreements (EPAs) and domestic trade regulation, with a focus on trade in services. She has also worked as a consultant at UNCTAD's Trade Negotiations and Commercial Diplomacy Branch (TNCDB) in the Division on International Trade in Goods and Services, and Commodities. Earlier, Denisse worked on trade in services and investment issues at multilateral, bilateral and sub-regional levels at the Permanent Mission of Bolivia in Geneva and the Foreign Ministry of Bolivia.

Among other titles she has recently authored 'Water in Andean Countries and Free Trade Agreements' in conjunction with Pablo Solon (Bolivia's plenipotentiary Ambassador for issues concerning Integration and Trade). Ms Rodriguez is a Member of the Bar of Bolivia and speaks Spanish, English and conversational French.
