Augustine Kidisil received his Bachelor of Laws degree (Honours) from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Ghana in 2009. He represented his school in various moot court competitions, including the All African Human Rights Moot Court Competition held in Pretoria, South Africa in 2008. In 2011, Augustine qualified as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Ghana after completing the professional law programme at the Ghana School of Law. There, he was awarded the best graduating student awards in the Law of Interpretation of Deeds & Statutes, and Advocacy and Legal Ethics. Augustine also represented the Ghana School of Law at the 2010 international rounds of the prestigious Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition in Washington D.C.  During his undergraduate and professional education, Augustine regularly conducted research for various NGOs, including Ghana Integrity Initiative and the Centre for Human Rights and Advanced Legal Research. He also coordinated the designing and successful implementation of Leitner Centre (Fordham University, New York) African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) capacity building in Ghana project in 2009. In 2010, Augustine served as a Research Assistant for the Ghana Constitution Review Commission.  After his professional studies, Augustine worked with Owusu Dapaa Law & Associates, a private law firm in Kumasi. He practiced mainly commercial litigation. During that time, he also assisted in teaching Jurisprudence and Public International Law at the KNUST Faculty of Law. In 2012, he won a Tullow Group Scholarship Scheme award to pursue an LL.M in Maritime Law at the University of Southampton, which he completed with Distinction. His dissertation focused on the formulation of a legal regime for the patenting of derivatives from marine genetic resources from areas beyond national jurisdictions.  Augustine has been awarded a SECO scholarship to pursue the MILE programme.
