Maganjo, Winnie

MILE 22

Winnie is an author of fiction (South B’s Finest) and a researcher in the field of trade policy. She graduated from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science (Bsc.) in Economics. After graduating, she founded a company named Bintis that manufactured nut butters for the East African market. This experience gave her a unique insight into running an SME focused on a finished product in an emerging market. The experience of building and managing a supply chain and complete value chain for the product led Winnie to consider the impact of trade policy on her business, an interest which grew to become a profession. Before joining the MILE program, Winnie worked as a researcher at a leading Kenyan consulting firm, Integrated Development Consultants (IDC) that specializes in development and trade related matters including trade policy negotiations and export advisory services.
