1st Swiss-UN Day / 1. Schweiz-UNO Tagung / 1 ère Journée Suisse-ONU
To mark 15 years since Switzerland joined the United Nations, the United Nations Association Switzerland, the Centre for Development and Environment (CDE) and the World Trade Institute (WTI) of the University of Bern are co-hosting the first Swiss-UN Day on 23 March 2018. More than 20 panellists from international organisations, academia, civil society, political organisations and the Swiss administration will participate. Former Swiss Federal Councillor Joseph Deiss will open the event, which will include a high-level roundtable.
Panels will consider current global ecological, social, economic and institutional challenges. The focus will be on the role of the UN and Switzerland’s place in the international organisation. The conference runs from 9:00 to18:00 at UniS, University of Bern. Presentations will be held in English, German and French. The event is free of charge and open to all registered participants.
