Prof. Em. Thomas Cottier awarded with an honorary doctorate by the University of Lucerne

Prof. Em. Cottier, founding father of the World Trade Institute, has been awarded with an honorary doctorate by the Law Faculty of the University of Lucerne on 5 November 2020.

Prof. Em. Cottier has not only been honoured for his outstanding contributions in the field of international trade law or his work as arbitrator in several dispute settlement proceedings of the World Trade Organization in practice, but also for creating a leading academic institution like the World Trade Institute, at which numerous students from all corners of the world have obtained a Master's degree which allowed them to pursue their dream careers.

Prof. Em. Cottier's leadership and vision have played and continue to play a big part in the WTI's success story. The whole institute is delighted about this new honour for Prof. Em. Cottier, one more in a long list of honours, awards and distinctions he has received over the years.
