Call for donations: "Nathalie Diaz Asmat scholarship" for Latin American students

In collaboration with the Global Impact Association, join us in supporting and honouring the memory of WTI's Alumna Nathalie Diaz. Donate today to the scholarship on her name, and help a young Latin American student to join the WTI and kick-start a successful career in international trade.

We are calling upon you to support and honour the memory of our very own Nathalie Diaz Asmat, MILE14 alumna and lawyer at the World Trade Organization (WTO). She graduated from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP) before working on anti-dumping for the Peruvian competition committee. She came to Switzerland on a Swiss government scholarship to study at the WTI, where she was a valued as a student, as an expert in her field and a friend to classmates. After graduating, she launched her career on an international level in Geneva, first as a secondment lawyer with the Advisory Centre for WTO Law and later as a Dispute Settlement Lawyer in the WTO Rules Division. She passed away on 28 October 2020 from complications related to ovarian cancer.

We want to remember Nathalie by creating a scholarship in her name to allow a young Peruvian lawyer to follow in her footsteps and make their mark in the world of international trade. The first scholarship recipient Claudia Rosas Cárdenas will attend the upcoming MILE23 programme; a 25-year-old economist from Lima, she was a Trade Assistant in the Peruvian Ministry of Trade and Tourism and a winner of the best delegate prize at the Model WTO 2021.

If you would like to support the Claudia and future recipients of the Nathalie Diaz Asmat scholarship, please donate towards the scholarship fund via the newly launched crowdfunding campaign or by bank transfer using the details below:
