Arti Gobind Daswani is an expert in trade policy and international trade law in the WTO Market Access Division. Her main responsibilities include the Council for Trade in Goods and the Customs Valuation Committee, and she leads the Advisory Group on Artificial Intelligence for the WTO Secretariat. Since joining the WTO in 2005, she has worked as a dispute settlement lawyer and has supported Ministerial Conferences, the General Council, the Committee on Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures, and the negotiations on the Trade Facilitation Agreement. She has also served as technical expert to dispute settlement panels, contributed extensively to WTO Secretariat reports and publications, and delivered technical assistance and training programmes for government officials across several WTO agreements. In other areas, she has advised developing countries on their WTO accession processes and served on panels in trade disputes under SIECA and CAFTA-DR. Arti holds a law degree from the University of Chile, an LL.M. in European Union Law and Competition Law from Carlos III University in Madrid, a diploma in International Trade and Business Law (University of Chile), and has certificates in Artificial Intelligence (University of Oxford) and Food Law (Academy of European Law).
