Dr. iur. Raphael Widmer-Kaufmann

Dr. iur. Raphael Widmer-Kaufmann is WTI Fellow and lecturer in aviation law at the University of Bern. He also teaches aviation and space law in CAS/DAS-programs at the University of St. Gallen and at other institutions. In addition, he is a lawyer and public notary with a specialisation in air law.

Dr. iur. Raphael Widmer-Kaufmann studied at the University of St.Gallen, where he completed his doctorate on air accident investigation under Swiss law (Die Flugunfalluntersuchung nach schweizerischem Recht: rechtshistorische Entwicklung heutige verfahrensrechtliche Ausgestaltung zukünftig anzugehende Probleme). He holds various mandates in the aviation industry, such as chairman of the board of trustees of the Center for Space and Aviation in Dübendorf, Switzerland. He also works as a flight instructor and freelance pilot on a PC12.
