Dr Anirudh Shingal
Anirudh Shingal is a Professor of Economics and Department Chair of Economics and Policy at the S.P. Jain Institute of Management & Research, Mumbai; and a Senior Consultant at the World Bank, Washington DC. He is also a Non-resident Fellow at the World Trade Institute (WTI), University of Bern; a Senior Programme Associate of the Global Governance Programme at the European University Institute (EUI), Florence; a Senior Visiting Fellow at the Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations, New Delhi; and a Visiting Fellow at the Centre for Social and Economic Progress (formerly Brookings India), New Delhi. Anirudh was a Senior Research Fellow and Lecturer in Economics at the WTI from 2010 to 2017 and a Jean Monnet Fellow at the EUI during 2016-17. A PhD in Economics from the University of Sussex, Anirudh has over 20 years of experience in academia and research. He has over 100 publications as peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters and studies commissioned by various international organizations including the World Bank, WTO, ADB, IFC, ITC, DfID, European Commission, UNCTAD, UNDP, UNEP, UNIDO and the Commonwealth Secretariat. His academic work has been published in leading trade and development journals including World Development, Economics Letters, World Bank Research Observer, Review of International Economics, The World Economy, Food Policy, etc. Anirudh’s teaching interests are in Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, International Trade, Trade and Development, and Applied Econometrics. Anirudh graduated 'summa cum laude' from the MILE programme at the WTI and also holds a Master's degree in Economics from the Delhi School of Economics. His undergraduate degree was in Economics (Honours) from St Stephen’s College, Delhi University.
