Development Economics and Environmental Sustainability

This course offers an introduction to development economics and environmental sustainability, with a focus on the interconnections between economic growth and environmental challenges.

The first part covers core topics in economic development, including cross-country income differences, growth models, human capital, technology, and globalization. The second part examines environmental economics, emphasizing policy instruments to address externalities, the economics of climate change, and the relationship between trade and the environment. Students will be assessed through group essays on class topics, and active participation is required. All readings and lecture slides will be provided in advance.
