Course 9: Digital and Artificial Intelligence Regulation

The accelerating digital transformation and rapid advances in artificial intelligence (AI) are reshaping economies, societies, and global trade. These technologies bring immense opportunities for innovation, growth, and connectivity, but they also raise complex regulatory challenges related, inter alia, to privacy, data governance, competition, consumer protection, and trust.
This course provides a comprehensive overview of the evolving regulatory landscape for digital trade and AI. It examines the key concepts, trends, and policy debates shaping digital markets, explores where and how international rules are negotiated, and analyzes the interplay between data governance, trade law, and emerging AI frameworks. By the end of the course, participants will understand the core issues driving digital and AI regulation and be equipped to engage with the policy and legal questions that define this fast-moving field.
