Launch of the 9th edition of the WTI-CWS Joint Academy in New Delhi

On 5 June 2023 the WTI-CWS Joint Academy on International Trade Law and Policy was launched.

Since 2014 the World Trade Institute jointly with the Centre for WTO Studies (CWS) of the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) organises an annual four-week Academy on trade law and policy.

This year, 23 students from Indian law schools all over the country and some personnel of the Indian Department of Commerce will participate in the programme. The courses are co-taught by WTI faculty members and faculty members of Indian institutions. Prof. Van den Bossche gave a welcome address at the Inauguration Ceremony. Afterwards, he started teaching the first module of the Academy: 'Essentials of WTO Law and Policy'. Other courses include Investment Law, Agreement on Agriculture, SPS and TBT, Trade and IPR, Trade in Services, The Law and Policy of Trade Remedies, Foreign Subsidies and Electronic Commerce.
