Warm praise from students for Summer Academy experience

The 2015 Summer Academy on New Frontiers in Trade and Investment Governance, which wrapped up on 7 August, received good marks from participants.

A total of 61 individuals from 30 different countries attended all or part of the five-week course, and most were positive in their feedback.

The Summer Academy was attended by 36 women and 25 men and the majority were aged between 20 and 29. The largest groups were from Germany and India (5 students each).

Feedback indicated that students were happy with both the organisation and delivery of the summer course.

Students who attended the full five weeks were particularly positive, praising the variety of approaches to trade, the in-depth discussion of the frontiers of trade, and the teachers’ knowledge.

“The course helps bring a general picture of current issues involving trade, economics and law, and also a deeper understanding of specific matters,” commented one participant.

The social activities – in particular a visit to the Cailler chocolate factory - and a trip to the WTO in Geneva were also highly rated, and mentioned as highlights by some.
