Gujarat International Moot Court held with WTI support

The WTI-sponsored annual Gujarat International Moot Court (GIMC) Competition has taken place for the eighth time at Gujarat National Law University, India.

The GIMC was held from 3 to 7 February and was attended by WTI director and Professor of Law, Michael Hahn.

As in past years, the winning team received an invitation to attend the WTI’s Summer Academy on International Trade Regulation, which will be held in Bern from 4 July to 5 August. This year a team from the National Law Institute University, Bhopal, won the winners’ trophy.

The runners-up were the National Academy of Legal Studies and Research, Hyderabad, who also won the best speaker for the finals trophy.

The GIMC attracted more than 40 competing teams from across India and other countries including Sri Lanka, the United States and Australia.

The moot problem of the 2016 edition of the GIMC concerned domestic sourcing of solar cells and plain packaging of crystalline silicon cells.
