Don’t miss the date for Doctoral School early admission

If you are a Master’s-level graduate in economics, political science and law and want to embark on a PhD, the WTI could be the place for you.

The deadline for early admission to the WTI Doctoral Programme for the 2017-2018 academic year is 1 September 2016. Regular applications should be submitted by 31 March 2017.

Early admission applicants will be eligible to apply for funding from the Swiss Government Excellence Scholarship.

At the WTI we take an interdisciplinary approach, exploring the interconnections between economics, political science and law and how such linkages can be developed to enhance scientific theory and practice. The programme is targeted at doctoral students who are interested in writing theses that cross the boundaries among the three disciplines.

PhD candidates benefit from a structured programme that is designed to offer maximum support thesis-writing. This includes continuous feedback and academic guidance from our global faculty of leading scholars and practitioners from universities, policy research institutions, law firms and international organisations.

Twenty-one students are enrolled for the academic year beginning in September 2016.

To be admitted to the WTI Doctoral Programme, the PhD applicant must first be accepted for supervision by an eligible professor and enrolled at the University of Bern.
