WTI/NCCR sponsors the third Moot Court Competition at Gujarat National Law University (Gandhinagar, India)

The World Trade Institute (WTI) continues its support of the Gujarat National Law University (GNLU) International Moot Court Competition (GIMC) as a partner and sponsor. This 3rd Annual Competition took place in Gandhinagar from 9–13 February 2011.

The GIMC attracted competing teams from 31 universities from India and other countries. Christian Häberli (WTI/NCCR) and Krista Nadakavukaren Schefer (University of Basel/WTI, author of the moot court case) served as panellists in the Moot Court’s Final Round.

Christian Häberli also gave a presentation on the WTI and spoke about his experience as a WTO panellist for the last 15 years. The other moot court judges included professors and lawyers from large Indian firms and a former Supreme Court judge as well as Shishir Priyadarshi from the WTO Secretariat.

The WTI awarded the winning team from George Washington University with a scholarship to its upcoming five-week Summer Academy on International Trade Regulation, taking place from 4 July to 5 August 2011.
