WTI signs MoU with Amity University

Prof Peter Van den Bossche and Prof Gurinder Singh signed the MoU during the INBUSH ERA World Summit 2019 at Amity University India in February.

On 22 February 2019 the World Trade Institute signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Indian Amity University. During the Valedictory Session of the 19th International Business Horizon - INBUSH ERA World Summit, the WTI’s Director of Studies Prof. Peter Van den Bossche and Prof. Gurinder Singh, Group Vice Chancellor of Amity University, signed an agreement for future cooperation in different areas including student and faculty exchange as well as joint research projects. It was also during this occasion that Prof. Van den Bossche received the ‘Amity Global Academic Excellence Award’.

Prof. Van den Bossche was invited as a speaker in the plenary session on ‘Globalisation in Technology Driven Societies’ of the INBUSH ERA World Summit where he gave a speech on 21 February 2019. Other panellists included Mr Andreas Bauer, IMF Senior Resident Representative for India, Nepal and Bhutan; Mr Larry Stone, Chairman of BT in India; Mr Sunil Wadhwa, Managing Director GE T&D, India; and Prof. Venkata Rao, Vice Chancellor, National Law School of India University, Bangalore.

Prof. Van den Bossche also gave a lecture to 45 Amity University students from the fields of law, economics and international relations to inform them about the WTI’s programmes. This lecture was very well received. The visit to Amity University was concluded with a tour of the impressive campus.
