WTI takes part in World Resources Forum 2019

The World Trade Institute (WTI) will participate in a workshop at the World Resources Forum which is taking place in Geneva on 23 and 24 October.

WTI Managing Director Professor Joseph Francois will speak on ‘Switzerland’s sustainable footprint’ at the Workshop on Trade Relations and Sustainability on the morning of 23 October.

The interactive workshop is organised by NRP 73, a research programme of the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF). It will include short presentations of initial results of NRP 73 research projects.

The presentations will be followed by a panel discussion with representatives of the Swiss government, politicians, researchers and company representatives.

Professor Francois leads a project - Switzerland’s Sustainability Footprint – within the NRP 73. The project team based at the WTI is developing new measures to achieve sustainable footprint targets for the Swiss economy that will form part of a publicly accessible database.

The World Resource Forum WRF 2019 has as its theme ‘Making Natural Resource Governance Fit for the 21st Century’. The topic was chosen to promote further dialogue on resource use as well as sustainable consumption and production.
