WTI hosts workshop on impact of trade wars

The World Trade Institute (WTI) is hosting a one-day workshop on ‘Trade Wars and their Impact on Global Trade and Small Economies’ on 21 November. The event is jointly organised with the Chung-Hua Institution for Economic Research, Taipei, Taiwan.

The interdisciplinary workshop will comprise four sessions. The first, chaired by WTI Managing Director Professor Joseph Francois, will focus on trade wars and their economic impact. This will be followed by a session on the role and rule of law in trade wars, chaired by Professor Makane Moise Mbengue of the University of Geneva.

In the afternoon, Professor Manfred Elsig of the WTI will chair a session on the international politics of trade wars and their impact. The final session will be a roundtable discussion chaired by the WTI’s Professor Thomas Cottier.
