Towards a common European treaty practise in investment law

The WTI’s International Investment Initiative (I3) and NCCR promote discussion on the New European Investment Policy in Brugges

With the collaboration of the Law Faculty of the College of Europe and UNU-CRIS, on 28 March the World Trade Institute (WTI)’s International Investment Initiative (I3) and the Working Package 2 of the NCCR are co-hosting the round table “European Investment Agreements in the Post-Lisbon Era”.

The purpose of this roundtable is to take stock of recent trends and brainstorm on likely future directions in EU investment law and policy. To do so, the organizers have assembled a first rate cast of key actors in the EU investment  field who have agreed to share their thoughts on a topic that will occupy centre stage of EU economic diplomacy in the coming years.

This knowledge transfer event will take place 2 days after the fourth meeting of the WTI’s (I3) ongoing “European Investment Dialogue Series”. This forum of discussion launched in May 2010 in collaboration with the Madariaga-College of Europe Foundation, aims to provide a small and select group of European public officials, investors, practitioners and academics experts in the investment field with a platform to explore ideas and solutions to the most central challenges arising in the design of what will become the new European Investment Agreements.
