Anand Nandakumar is a native of the State of Kerala, towards the southern tip of India. He completed his B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) degree from the National University of Advanced Legal Studies with a specialisation in corporate laws and is licensed to practice law in India. He is currently matriculated in the LL.M. programme in International Trade and Investment Law (TRAIL+) offered by the World Trade Institute (WTI), University of Bern.

Prior to joining the WTI, Anand worked as a legal associate at TPM Consultants in New Delhi, focusing on trade remedies. During his three-year tenure at TPM, he represented several clients in trade remedial investigations conducted in India, the United States, the European Union, China, the Gulf Cooperative Council, Taiwan, and Ukraine. He has represented the Government of India and manufacturers from diverse sectors ranging from chemicals to heavy industries.   

Anand finds specific interest in a variety of subjects like climate-related trade measures, intersection of labour rights and trade liberalisation, regulation of industrial policies etc., with a special focus on the interests of developing and least developed nations. He is keen to work with public and private entities in making the opportunities under the WTO framework accessible to all.
