Fernando Martín leads the Analytics Unit at the Global Trade Alert, specialising in trade and industrial policy, geopolitics, and economic strategy. He holds a Ph.D. in Business Economics from KU Leuven and an MSc in Political Economy of Europe from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). His academic experience also includes a visiting research position at Stanford University. A frequent speaker at high-level international forums, he has presented research on industrial policy, economic security, and trade competitiveness at institutions such as the World Trade Organization (WTO), OECD, and Chatham House. His insights on global trade and economic security have been published in IMF Working Papers, The World Economy, and the ZEITGEIST Series Briefings, and have been cited by the Financial Times.
