Andrii Gryshko is a lawyer who graduated from the Institute of Foreign Relations, Kyiv National University, with a Master of International Law. His thesis dealt with the legal distinctions concerning establishment and registration of banks in Ukraine and the United States. Following his studies, Andrii worked as Legal Counselor for the State Export and Import Bank of Ukraine, providing legal support to banking executives on such topics as branch registration, contracts and agreements as well as representation of the bank in court and state bodies. Later, due to Ukraine’s pending accession to the WTO and the establishment of a WTO cooperation department by the Ministry of Economy, Andrii was invited to work on amendments to domestic legislation on intellectual property, food safety, technical regulations and conformity assessment. He was then assigned to the Permanent Mission of Ukraine in Geneva where he had the opportunity to work closely with WIPO, WTO, UNCTAD and ITC and to participate in free trade negotiations with EU and the European Free Trade Association, in particular on intellectual property rights protection and investments issues. Andrii would like to build on his knowledge and professional interest in international trade, law and economics by studying the MILE in Berne. He speaks Russian, Ukrainian, and English. Andrii’s main motivations are to study new languages, obtain knowledge and seek new challenges. His interests include travel, many various outdoor activities and sports, as well as reading and music.
