Alexandre holds a Bachelor of Law from the Catholic University of Santos. After graduation, he had his own law firm before becoming a federal attorney in 2003. He currently works at the regional branch of the Office of the Attorney-General for the Ministry of Finance in the city of São Paulo, Brazil, where he files tax collection suits and works on defense proceedings on behalf of the federal government against tax payers contesting the enforcement of laws regarding federal taxes. Alexandre also holds a Specialist of Law from three different institutions: specialization in company law from the Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo, specialization in economic integration and international tax law from Fundação Getúlio Vargas de São Paulo, and specialization in economics from the Institute of Brazilian Issues of the George Washington University, USA. He has eighteen publications, including book chapters and articles in the most important Brazilian law reviews, mainly in international economic law. In 2007, he published a book about subsidies and countervailing measures in the WTO legislation. He also lectured in specialization courses on company and tax law. Alexandre speaks Portuguese, English and French, and is interested in tax law, international economic law and philosophy of law.
