MILE 14

Paul graduated from the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa. He obtained two Bachelor's degrees, firstly in Economics with Political science as a minor subject and secondly in Law. He completed his law degree in January 2013. He participated in an exchange programme at the University of Bern, after having been nominated by the Law Faculty of the University of Stellenbosch. During this semester he participated in courses such as the International and European Law on Climate Change and the International Law of Contemporary Media. In January 2012 Paul also undertook an internship in the litigation department at an attorney’s office in Pretoria, South Africa. In 2013, prior to starting the MILE course, he worked for a neuropsychologist as an assistant. His primary task was converting raw patient data into usable evidence reports.  

Paul developed an interest in the international trading system during his bachelor studies and seeks to broaden his knowledge thereof with the MILE degree. His other academic interests include the laws regulating companies and environmental law. Growing up in South Africa, he has a fully bilingual education, being fluent in Afrikaans and English, while also speaking limited German. In his free time he enjoys various outdoor sports, photography, travelling and learning of different cultures.
