Modesta has a Bachelor of Arts in Political science and Russian (First class Honors) and a Bachelor Laws, LLB from the University of Ghana, Legon. She has been admitted to the Ghana Bar as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Ghana.

She has worked as Attorney in Ghana’s topmost litigation and corporate law firms like Messers Kulendi@Law and Landmark@Legal where she advised on matters relating to trade and investment, corporate governance, intellectual property law and commercial arbitration.

Her work as an Attorney at both Kulendi@Law and Landmark@legal exposed her to a myriad of political, economic and legal issues underlying global trade and investment which sparked the desire to pursue further studies in the field of International Trade law. The coming into force of the African Continental Free Trade Agreement and Ghana’s selection as the host nation heightened her interest in issues relating to international trade even more.

Modesta finds the TRAIL+ program at WTI to be an ideal choice for her line of academic interest and career pursuit. She envisages that, through the program, she will obtain solid understanding of how international trade works and the inherent challenges that affect the implementation of existing bilateral and multilateral trade arrangements.

She would like to extend her gratitude to the World Trade Institute for the Director’s scholarship and the Ghana Education Trust Fund ( GetFund) scholarship scheme which provided her the opportunity to pursue the LLM program in International Trade and Investment Law.
