Thao-Van Nguyen
Thao-Van Nguyen is a young legal professional from Vietnam. She graduated with the highest distinction from the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam (DAV), majoring in International Law. Van gained extensive experience in moot court competitions – she was part of the youngest team to win every national accolade at the International Humanitarian Law Moot Court Competition and was also the runner-up at the national Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) Arbitration Moot Competition. She later represented Vietnam in the global rounds of these competitions and went on to mentor national teams, contributing actively to her faculty’s and the country’s mooting scene.
Professionally, Van has worked as a trainee lawyer for multiple reputable law firms in Vietnam, specialized in corporate and investment law. Motivated by a passion for building economic governance that bridges the gap between corporate practice, sustainable development and social equity, she was awarded the full-ride Penglai scholarship by the Global Impact Association to pursue her Master’s studies of International Law and Economics at the World Trade Institute of the University of Bern.
Van enjoys traveling, writing, reading fiction and engaging in social activism.
