Ms. Nada Alsalmi

Nada Alsalmi is a Senior Legal Specialist in Trade Policy and Negotiations at the International Organizations and Negotiations Deputyship of the General Authority for Foreign Trade (GAFT) in Saudi Arabia. Born and raised in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, Nada developed an early interest in global affairs and public policy.
Her professional journey began with an internship at the Saudi Human Rights Commission, where her exposure to international legal frameworks sparked a lasting interest in international law and treaty-making. She subsequently joined the General Authority for Foreign Trade, where she built expertise in international trade agreements and the World Trade Organization (WTO).
Nada has served as a Legal Specialist in trade remedies and later as Supervisor of Export Defense, gaining hands-on experience in trade defense instruments and dispute-related matters. She was later selected for the WTO Young Professionals Programme, becoming the first Saudi national to be accepted into the program. She continues to work with GAFT on matters related to international trade agreements and multilateral trade negotiations.
Nada holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from King Abdulaziz University in Saudi Arabia, a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the University of Toronto in Canada, and has recently obtained a Diploma of Advanced Studies in International Law and Economics (DAS ILE Unibe) from the University of Bern.
